- Not Anchored
All safes carrying a Grade for burglary protection which weigh below 1000kg must be properly anchored to the floor or a wall, otherwise the classification is no longer valid and the label inside the safe should be removed.
|
- Unauthorised Modifications
If unauthorised modifications are made to a safe, such as changing the lock, adjusting the boltwork, replacing the seal, adding a deposit slot, then the safe’s burglary or fire certification may no longer be valid and the label inside the safe should be removed.
Therefore insist that all product checks, maintenance and customisation is carried out by the original supplier or an accredited partner.

- Insufficient Lock Grade
You must also be very careful when choosing which locks to have fitted to a safe. If a safe carries a burglary protection certificate, then the lock used must also have been certified as offering an equivalent degree of protection. If not, then the safe’s burglary protection certificate becomes invalid. Locks are certified in accordance with the EN 1300 standard.
View our lock chart showing which classification of lock is required for each Grade of safe and vault.
